Duo Nico Mora - José San Martín
These two companions and extremely expressive improvisers integrate into their sound the richness of the rhythms and landscapes of the Río de la Plata and the jazz language, sculpting them as they please in their own sound space.
A little more about these musicians
Mora, guitarist and bandoneonist, and San Martín, drummer and percussionist, are both composers from Uruguay. They often share the stage with renowned international artists and have won several awards as composers.
Their journey of shared frolicsomeness has not just begun: Nico Mora recorded in José San Martín's first disc, "En esta esquina" (year 2000), and subsequently produced the exquisite material "Intuitivo" (year 2007 - Mora/Goicoechea /Righi/San Martín), which was recorded in a single session, entirely improvised in the SONDOR studio, and won the “Graffiti” prize for the best jazz record in Uruguay.
In the year 2011, José San Martín recorded “Acuerdos” in Dúo - Nicolás Mora & Fernando Goicoechea’s disc.
They are currently cooking a sparkling new duo project recorded this year in Madrid with their own compositions and a couple of spicy versions.
This fertile phase of their work filled with the imagination that characterizes them gives impetus to their tour and adds a new pearl to the necklace of jazz fusion in Switzerland.
